Dear Editor, First of all, I am a founding member of Middle Creek Ranch (1983), so have almost 30 years of experience driving through this creek over the current low water crossing. It is absolutely, in my opinion, not a safety issue. With our dam right upstream of this crossing, only when the dam spillway overflows to the current crossing is there any issue.

Dear Editor, Taxpayers should be aware that an 80’ clear span bridge is proposed and currently being engineered to replace the low water crossing on Middle Creek Road (CR 410). This bridge proposal is being propelled by Commissioner Paul Granberg based on the argument of a “safety” improvement. This bridge is costing $68,000 just for the engineering work and is estimated between $300,000 and $500,000 in construction cost from our hard earned county revenues.

Dear Editor, My name is Jorey Berry. My husband is a teacher at LBJ High School and our son is a sophomore. When our son entered fourth grade in another school district, we knew we wanted to make a change. We already lived in Johnson City ISD and planned to move him even before the end of the fall semester.

Following is the exact statement made by District Judge Dan Mills regarding the case of the American Legion Post 352 vs. Blanco ISD as according to the transcript for a hearing held on December 13, 2013. "Judge Mills - Why don't we -- why don't we -- why don't we try that and let somebody sit down, another lawyer that knows a lot about real estate law look at this, and maybe they can refine the issues and bring it to both sides' attention, if you have an Achilles heel in your lawsuit let me te ...

Growing up in a small town you think there is nothing to do and it is so boring, you can’t wait to leave. We left 38 years ago, but came back 30 years ago and are so thankful we came back to such a loving, caring community. As2013 ends and 2014 begins we would like to say thank you!

Dear Editor, I just read the article about the dedication of the Class of 2012 gift - thanks! The article was well written and the decision to include Terry Lefford’s speech in its entirety could very likely catch the attention of adults who were not in attendance at the dedication; in turn they may have the important – yet hard – conversation with their kids and ultimately save a life.

Dear Editor, In last week’s paper, Kevin Tully suggested that anyone with information or thoughts on the issue(s) between the City of Johnson City and Wayne Pittman, write a letter to the editor. I thought this might be a useful thing to do, as I would like to see this matter put to rest once and for all.

Dear Editor: Although Christmas has past, three spirits continue to roam the streets of Johnson City. The first is the misplaced, rancorous spirit of City Councilman Wayne Pittman. The second is the great spirit of the classical Greek philosopher, Socrates. The third is the confused spirit of cognitive dissonance. The first spirit, Mr.

Dear Editor: To those who missed the half time show at the Basketball game last Friday night, you missed out on a very special treat. Watch out Globetrotters, you have some competition. A very talented group of very young ball players from Stonewall Headstart performed at half time during the Varsity Girls Game last Friday.

Dear Editor: I’ve always thought that the man in charge of our beautiful free nation would be a very intelligent person. His sidekick, not so much. But recently they have come out with one of the stupidest statements I have ever heard in my 62 years in this beautiful nation. It’s concerning gun control. First of all, the last four words of the second amendments are, “shall not be infringed.” Does that not mean anything to these people?

Dear Editor, Are you kidding me: Re: City of Johnson City vs Lindig Case # 03-11-00660-CV. Five years, thousands and thousands of dollars, countless man hours spent and many more expected and for what? A thousand dollar building permit. AARG. Doesn’t Johnson City Employees and Councilmen have anything better to do?
