Madeleine Ellis Moss, 67, passed away on January 6, 2015 at home in Johnson City, TX. She was born on June 3, 1947 in Pasadena, TX to John and Catherine Ellis. Madeleine grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Pasadena Memorial High School. Madeleine married Ralph Moss in 1964 in Pasadena.

BLANCO – Jack “Jackie” Smith, 79 of Blanco passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 20, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco and services will be on Wednesday, January 21 at 2:00 PM at Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel in Blanco with burial to follow in McKinney Cemetery. Jack was born on July 27, 1935 in Blanco County, to Goldwin and Beulah (Edmondson) Smith.

Lee Benjamin Casparis, 86, passed away January 16, 2015 in Johnson City. Lee was born in Johnson City to Howard Milton and Regina Smith Casparis. He was raised in Johnson City and graduated from Johnson City High School where he was part of a winning basketball team. Lee attended Tarleton State University.

Albert Kroll of Johnson City, Texas passed away at the Kerrville VA Hospital on January 2nd, 2015, three days after his 96th birthday. Born December 30, 1918 on the Robinson Ranch in Round Mountain, Texas to Charlotte Pauline “Lottie” (nee Wilke) and Wilhelm Heinrich Gustav “Willie” Kroll, Albert lived and worked nearly his whole life in and around Johnson City.

Alfred “Al” Davis, Jr. passed away on September 19, 2014 at the age of 95 after a brief illness. He was born on February 10, 1919 in Johnson City to Alfred and Annie (Casparis) Davis. His great grandparents, Alfred and Mary Russell Davis, were pioneer settlers in the Blowout community in Northwest Blanco County where the Davis Ranch is still located.

Charles Lloyd Ahrens, 75, of Buffalo, Texas died peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 7, 2014. He was born December 6, 1938 at Sandy, Texas to Orwin Ahrens and Louise Sultemeier Ahrens, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Vernell Scherer. He graduated valedictorian from Johnson City High School in 1957.
