Letters to the Editor

Readers are welcome to e-mail, fax, bring, or mail the letter to our office. There is a general limit of 300 words. Letters must be signed and include the author's name, address, and phone number. The phone number will not be published. Letters should address issues of general interest in the newspaper's coverage area and not contain any form of slander.

Announcements

Johnson City Record Courier accepts birth, engagement, wedding, and anniversary announcements and places them as space allows. E-mail the copy, or bring or mail it to our office. There is no charge for the article; a small fee is charged to run a photo. Photos may be picked up at our office after the article has run and are only held for six weeks after submission. Reproduction of a wedding invitation is considered an advertisement.

Articles for Publication

There is no charge for running articles and photos of news events, community events, club events, church events, etc. and will be run as space allows. We encourage you to include photos with the article. Some articles are considered advertising.

Obituaries

Obituaries are accepted from funeral homes and family. The funeral home in charge of the arrangements usually handles the request. A small fee is charged to run the photo.
