Despite the threat of clouds, more than 100 people enjoyed an educational and entertaining evening on Saturday, November 19th as Blanco State Park hosted a “Stars in the Park” event. As if on cue, the clouds that were present all day disappeared just in time for the long anticipated event to have a clear sky full of brilliant stars.
We would like to cordially invite you to our upcoming Christmas Program. There are 25 people working on our musical presentation of the traditional Nativity Story told untraditionally through contemporary music. We hope that you will take the time to attend one of the performances. The score consists of 12 songs including selections by Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Audrey Assad, and 6 original works by local Medina resident, Heidi Klaassen.

The Garden club met at the EMS room last Thursday for their monthly meeting, the program was CPR Lessons/Signs of Stoke-Heart Attacks. Our speaker was Michelle Burdette and Gerry Moreau, Michelle told us about CPR, explaining that the technique has changed, and advised us that CPR classes will be conducted at the EMS in the future and encouraged everyone to take them, never know when you might need them! The Highland Lakes Native Plant Society will meet at 1:00pm this Saturday November 19th at the Marble Falls Library. Brian Loflin will be giving a presentation on the Grasses of Texas Hill County. Brian and his wife Shirley have written and photographed three books for Texas A&M University Press, including Grasses of the Texas Hill Country, and Texas Cacti two photographic field guides, and they have recently completed Texas Wildflower Vistas and Hidden Treasures, a coffee table book to ...

"The Hill Country Spurs 4-H Horse Club’s next meeting is on November 15, 2011. This meeting, held every third Tuesday at Exhibit Hall at the Blanco County Fairgrounds in Johnson City at 6:30 pm, is open to youths from kindergarten to high school seniors. Owning a horse is not a requirement.
Almost perfect weather and the prospect of good food, plus the desire to help support the larger community, drew around 350 people to the historic Pleasant Hill - Rocky School last Saturday evening to enjoy the Smorgasbord, the annual benefit dinner hosted by members of the Pleasant Hill - Rocky Community Club. The Library offers many programs, one that has become very popular is our own Library book club, with wonderful selections and discussion leaders the past few years. We are nearing the end of 2011, and we have a November book selection that is a must for our readers, and also an opportunity to buy this book for your collection. The name of the book is O Pioneers!
Green Thumb - Bulbs - Nov 17. Learn all about bulbs at a Highland Lakes Master Gardener free Green Thumb program on Thursday, November 17th at Noon at the Kingsland Library. Master Gardener Violet Carson will discuss when, where and how to plant your bulbs. She will answer your questions and help you enjoy a successful crop of spring flowers from your bulbs. The Pleasant Hill - Rocky Community Club will host its annual benefit dinner Saturday, the opening day of deer season, for residents, community and area friends, and visiting hunters. All are welcome! Serving will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m. or food runs out. Meals are by donation. The clubhouse, the historic Pleasant Hill – Rocky schoolhouse on CR 205 (Rocky Road) at U.S.
The Round Mountain Extension Education Club met on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 2:00 PM at Swope Hall at St. Luke’s Church in Cypress Mill. The meeting was called to order by President, Barbara Wilson. A reading, "A Polish Divorce" was read. It was a cute story on miscommunication. Thirteen members answered roll call. Frankie Hohenberger gave the council report.
