This is an amazing program and a wonderful opportunity for LBJ students to earn up to 36 hours of college credit by the end of their Senior year (equivalent to a college sophomore!) at little or no cost. This program offers opportunities for growth through self-discipline & self-motivation, and we are always here to help!
LBJ High School students are learning about their school and community by volunteering in the school’s Eagles in Service (EIS) Volunteer Program. “We want to encourage our students with opportunities to experience life outside of the school walls. Giving back to the community through service projects is an excellent way for students to learn about their community, their fellow students and themselves,” said LBJHS Principal Julie Storer.

Every two years the University Interscholastic League (UIL) in Texas recalculates the way school districts across the state are classified and aligned with each other. On Thursday, February 2nd Central Texas coaches gathered at Round Rock ISD’s Reeves Athletic Complex for the release of the UIL’s biannual reclassification and realignment.
Joining the Ranks of the Elite Banners honoring Johnson City’s 2011 UIL Champions – Saxophonist Brandon Adams and the Eagle Varsity Baseball team – were recently installed alongside other Championship banners in the LBJHS gym. The banners were purchased by the Fighting Eagle Band Boosters and the Eagle Athletic Boosters and presented at Homecoming this fall
Eighteen LBJ High School students competed in the Region 13 Visual Arts Scholastic Event at San Marcos. These Johnson City High School artists represented our school in 4 scholastic levels against 1A through 5A schools. Twenty-four students placed with the highest score of four in their category and medaled at the Region 13 Event in their level and category.
This week was inspired by the novel “The Misfits” by James Howe. The book tells the story of four best friends trying to survive the 7th grade in the face of all too frequent taunts based on their weight, height, intelligence, and sexual orientation/gender expression. They win the support of the school’s principal for their cause of school wide No Name Calling.

The Eagles have done it again! This year JCISD dominated in the UIL Academic Competition that took place in Hunt, Texas last December. Johnson City won first place by 56 points – whereas Mason ISD came in second and Center Point ISD came in at third place. For the first time in JCISD history, the school district placed first in every math contest…in every grade level!
