Since Christ’s church exists and since the scriptures tell us how to be added to it the next logical question is: How Do I Identify the Lord’s Church? If you were to go in search of the Lord’s church what should you look for? In other words, how can I identify Christ’s church when there are literally thousands of different churches in our world today?

We read in Psalm 127:1 "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it." This passage provides a warning to us to be sure that the church of which we are a part is indeed Christ’s church and not a religious house established by men. It is has been exciting to seek Bible truth about Christ’s church and learn that this spiritual body exists today but this knowledge is not enough.
Is it just me, or do others have trouble catching up? Just when it looks like I am almost caught up with some project or my to-do-list, something happens setting me back a few paces. One step forward, as they say and for me 17 steps backward. Or, so it seems. I don’t have any problem whatsoever catching a cold.

Jesus left the glory of Heaven so that He could build His church (Matthew 16:18). Over the last few weeks we have been talking about the church He promised to build. What we’ve learned already is that the church is not a building, it is not worship and it is not a denomination. Our second study established from the scriptures that Jesus prayed for His church (Matthew 6:10) and that, by dying on the cross, He purchased His church (Acts 20:28).

The parishioners of Good Shepherd Catholic Church would like to recognize all those who supported our Mexican dinner and raffle on Sunday, October 2nd. It is the generous support of the community that contributes to the success of this event. We would also like to extend our appreciation to our parishioners and everyone who gave their time in the planning, preparation and execution of Sunday’s festivities. This year’s raffle prizes were generously donated by James and Glo ...
"…Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Jesus spoke these powerful, enlightening words to those who would be His disciples in John 8:32. Further on in the Gospel according to John we learn that the body of teaching contained in God’s word is truth (John 17:17, also see Psalm 119:160). The wonderful thing about truth is that it is objective.

Ellie Park, Mitch Biesenbach, Ian Collins confirmed their faith at Trinity Lutheran Church of Stonewall with Pastor Smerek attending.
The English word "church" is used at least eighty times in the New Testament. As often as this word is used in the Scriptures you would think that we would have a proper concept of what the church is, but such is not the case. In fact, we could probably say that most people do not have a Biblical understanding of the church.
