KERRVILLE, Texas—Breanne Lawrence of Johnson City graduated from Schreiner University and received her diploma during commencement ceremonies held in the Dietert Auditorium in December, before an audience of friends, family and members of the University’s academic faculty. Tony and Gayla Stevenson of Boerne are proud to announce the upcoming marriage of their son, Adam, to Kenna Allen, daughter of Kevin and Ronda Allen of Coleman, Texas. Adam is a 07 Boerne H.S. graduate and a 2011 graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Criminal Justice.
On March 3, 2012 the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department is teaming up with the Fire Corps to host an Open House for all of the Community. They are planning this to take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Fire Station located on Live Oak Drive. The Open House is to Celebrate paying off the building in July of 2011.
On Friday, February 3, 2012 there was a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of our newest and largest convenience store in Johnson City. Before the ribbon cutting ceremony, Steve DeSutter, President and CEO of Stripes, spoke and introduced several individuals that were on hand to represent Johnson City and the Stripes family.

BOUNCING BABY BOY......Amanda and Greg Wessels are proud to announce the birth of their son, Aaron Matthew, born on January 26th at Seton Hospital in Austin. Aaron weighed 7 lbs., 6 ounces and was 19 ½ inches in length. He was welcomed by his sister, Aleigh Marie, grandparents, Joe and Peggy Stewart of Johnson City and Diane and Jim Wessels of La Grange.
Tarleton State University has selected six students (enrollment of over 10,000 students) to be included in the 2012 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Sheridan Hodge, daughter of Jimmy and Kim Hodge of Johnson City, has been selected to be in this elite group. The Who’s Who program is a nationally recognized institution of the American academic community.

Ms. Teresa Taylor of Kansas City,MO. And Mr. Anthony Bynum of Castle Rock,CO. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter,Kennedy Alyssia Bynum to Samuel Taylor Powell,son of David and LeeAnn Powell of Copeville,TX. Miss Bynum is a 2009 graduate of LBJ High School and is employed as a photographer in Dallas.
Zachary Denton, a graduate of L. B. J. High School in 2011, received top honors in his class at U T I of Houston where he is attending school. Zachary has consistently been at the top of his class once before losing honors on a tie breaker. Zachary is living in Houston, but says he can’t wait for Fridays so he can get out of Houston and back to Johnson City where he still works his hauling business that he started while attending L.B.J.
We, Jesse and Amanda Mize, are proud to announce the birth of our little baby girl, Emma Lynn Mize! With her arrival, January 16th at 11:03pm, she weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long, makes us believe that dreams really do come true. The proud Grandparents include Rosie Rios, Ernest and Margie Rios of Johnson City, Loni Mize of Johnson City and Cindy Mize of Paris.
