Darlene and Ron Young of Johnson City, TX., are proud to announce the recent wedding of their daughter, Christy Lynn Young, to Brock Aaron Lacy, son of Sharon Stone of Conroe, TX. and Bill Lacy of Crosby, TX. The bride graduated from LBJ High School in Johnson City in 2000 and Texas State University – San Marcos with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science.

On Monday night at the city Christmas party held at the new Agave Mexican food restaurant, Johnson City Police Officer Captain Bryan Geeslin was awarded the 2011 "Employee of the Year" award which is voted on by the city employees. Congratulation Bryan.

David Hall filed November 28, the first day to file for public office, for a place on the ballot as candidate for Blanco County Attorney in the March 6, 2012 Republican primary. Mr. Hall graduated from the University of Texas school of law and worked in Austin and San Antonio for the Jackson Walker law firm before opening his own law practice in the Old Blanco County Courthouse in 2005.
The 2012 Holiday Baseball Camp for youngsters ages 8 though 18 will be held January 21-22 at the Kerrville Little League complex on Highway 27 in Kerrville. The camp is directed by Chris Smith, Cleveland Indians scout and former coach at Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymont. He will be assisted by Fred Russ, former coach at Schreiner College, and by Kyle Van Hook, Cleveland Indians scout, former head baseball coach at Blinn College and former assistant coach at San Jacinto College.

Chelita Riley has announced her candidacy for Blanco County Attorney in the March, 2012 Republican Primary. Ms. Riley is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University as well as University of Houston Law Center where she received her juris doctorate in 1996. Riley’s professional background ranges from litigation experience in a general law practice to extensive corporate experience in complex contract negotiations.
Schreiner University senior Breanne Lawrence has been named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2011-12. Lawrence, who majors in communication studies, is the daughter of Loretta and Rex Hacket of Johnson City. Students are nominated by faculty and selected for Who’s Who on the basis of their academic achievement, leadership, community service and potential for future success.

Sierra Hodge, daughter of Jimmy & Kim Hodge of Johnson City received her certificate of completion from the Weatherford College Cosmetology Program on August 12, 2011. Sierra is a former LBJ student, Abeka Christian. Academy 2008 graduate and received an Associates Degree from Howard College in 2010. Upon receiving her license from the State of Texas, Sierra will be working as a stylist at The Bijou full service salon in Stephenville, TX.
