SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE.....Kip, Sandi, Quaid and Gavin proudly announce the birth of their daughter and sister, Brisa Marie Thompson. Brisa was born at St. David’s Women’s Center in Austin on January 6th at 8:14 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 1/4 inches long. Grandparents include Sam and Marie Watson of Goldthwaite and Nancy Thompson of Johnson City.
SNIPS AND SNAILS AND PUPPY DOG TAILS.....Max Joseph Sanders was born in San Antonio on December 21, 2011, at 1:20pm. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 20 3/4 inches long. He is welcomed by his parents, Kelly and Gretchen Sanders of Blanco; big brother Jake; and grandparents Jim and Marla Sanders of Blanco, and Jerry and Frances Leist of Angleton.
The Women’s Auxiliary to the Texas Sheep and Goat Raiser’s Association, Hill Country Chapter are once again offering scholarship opportunities to area high school seniors and current university juniors, seniors and graduate students. Deadline to apply is April 1 and no late applications will be accepted. Jared Emmitt Spears a 2011 Honors Graduate of LBJ High School will be honored on January 24, 2012 at the Art Institute of Austin campus for his academic achievement. By achieving a 4.0 grade point average for the Fall Quarter he has been named to the President’s List. Jared is enrolled in the Audio Technology Bachelors Degree Program and will graduate in 2015.

Garrett DeSpain shot this spike over the Thanksgiving holiday while hunting with his father, Nelson DeSpain, at their family’s lease in Terlingua. Garrett made the shot with a 22-250 at about 140-150 yards. This is Garrett’s first buck.
PetPALS will hold low-cost spay and neuter clinics on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, and Saturday, January 21, 2012. In addition, PetPALS will hold a rabies clinic on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
