The last of 857 health kits went into the box and left Johnson City this week, headed for San Antonio and the chain of deliveries that will take them to earthquake survivors in Haiti. Fred Peyton, left, Merlyn Saxton and Susan Hill helped on the assembly line as members of the Marvelously Mature group at the First United Methodist Church took time off from dominoes to help pack the kits which will slow down the spread of disease in the stricken country. Churches, groups and businesses — mostly from Blanco County but with support from all around the Hill Country — contributed to the campaign.
