'''Pinewood Derby Races''' OH, NO...A PILE-UP ON THE TRACK! That happens, whether it’s the Indy 500 or the Cub Scouts’ Pinewood Derby races. In this case, Johnson City Cubs Kevin Diehl, left, and Jason Brothers re-ran their hand- made model cars from last year’s Derby competition, looking for ways to improve their chances to win this year. Kevin, Jason and the other budding NASCAR builders will go to Marble Falls October 3rd to learn to build better (and safer) cars. The Cub Scouts program is open to area boys 1st grade through age 11. They meet at 6 pm Thursdays in the Activity Building of the First United Methodist Church in Johnson City. For more information, contact David Kurimsky at 237-5084.
