'''Johnson City Writes......''' On June 18th, Johnson City Library, Writers’ League of Texas, and LBJ National Historic Park hosted its first Writers Conference. Writers from all across the Texas Hill Country helped make this event a huge success! Many of the writers had the opportunity to attend work shops that were led by three published authors from across the state. In theses workshops, writers were allowed to gather some insight on what has made these published authors so successful. With all the excitement that was brought to the event, author Tweed Scott of “Texas in Her Own Words” agreed to lead our next book discussion at the Johnson City Library in August. Of course, the August book for Johnson City Reads well be “Texas in Her Own Words”. We are also pleased to announce that the Johnson City Writes monthly writing group will be starting very soon as well. If you would like to be a part of Johnson City Writes, please contact Bambi Haley at 830-868-9269 or bambihaley@yahoo.com for all the details.
