Well, we have all gotten through Christmas and I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas full of good health. It seems like we have nothing but the best around here.
Our Office will be closed for January 1st, 2010. This brings to me a little thought about the New Year. The New Year is the day that marks the end of one year and the beginning of the next year, and is the day on which the year count is incremented.

Four hundred years ago this month, in December 1609, Galileo began his telescopic study of the Moon and almost immediately found evidence that challenged the Aristotelian view that was fundamental to much of the scholarly and ecclesiastical thinking of the day.

Christmas Gift, Oh, Christmas Gift
I bet I received a gift that no other woman in Blanco County got. No it wasn’t a fur coat or a diamond tennis bracelet and certainly it wasn’t a partridge in a pear tree. I really don’t want a bird to take care of and if I had a pear tree and it bore fruit, Pat would want me to put up pears and sell them out on the highway.
I really didn’t ask for anything because I couldn’t think of anything I really wanted.

On Saturday evening, 12/26/09 around midnight neighbors located on Highway 281 in Round Mountain heard a lot of popping sounds and, at first, thought it was fireworks. However when they looked outside, it was far worse. Their neighbors home was on fire and burning fast. The owner of the home wasn’t present, but was located at a friends house.

The U.S. Senate is rushing to extend the current estate tax rate as it plans for its reappearance in 2011.
