Doing His Job!

This is in response to Mr. J.W. Bowen’s letter to the editor “Has Johnson City Become a Speed Trap???” in the Nov. 6, 2008 Johnson City Record Courier. It appears to me that the officer is doing exactly what he is sworn to do-enforce the law. From my experience, so called, “speed traps” are only perceived as such by those who disregard the posted speed limit, and get caught. For some reason, these folks seem to think that compliance with the speed limit is optional, and I guess it is. However, if you opt to exceed that limit, you must be ready, willing, and able to “pay” the consequences. The minimally paid unnamed “rookie officer” is not the bad guy in the scenario. I applaud him for doing his job.
