The Community Garden Club met last Thursday at the First United Methodist Church activity center. Thirty four ladies were present to take a walk down memory lane, and see the Power Point program presented by Kay Culp that was shown at our 40th anniversary Ruby Jubilee last year. Many of us were working or not able to attend so this was a repeat, but for those who did see it, it was fun all over again. We got a kick out of how we had changed, especially the clothes that we wore...dresses, lots of dresses. It was a fun day looking back and reflecting on all the things the club has been involved with and continues to be active in.

After the program, our President Pearl Hedlund conducted a business meeting. The club will be participating in Lights Spectacular more this year. In addition to the craft sales in the courthouse, we will be selling Frito Pie in the food court, and at a table nearby we will be selling chances to win a autographed copy of Potluck on the Pedernales by Lady Bird Johnson.

Be watching for us, and support this club and take a chance on winning this prize cookbook, a real collectors book.

The craft ladies are ready to wow you this year with some new ornaments and crafts so don’t forget to stop by the courthouse on opening weekend of Lights Spectacular and the three following weekends. The club also voted to participate in Wildflower Days in the Spring, and to continue to recycle and keep the planters beautiful with fall flowers.

After the meeting, hostesses Candy Falatko, Bonnie Holland, Sandy Lee, and Chelita Riley served delicious refreshments. Our next meeting will be December 11th at the home of Nancy Talley. This will be our Chinese Christmas exchange, always a fun day, and word is out that Nancy has already started decorating her house, so be prepared and get in the Christmas spirit with your friends and celebrate Christmas Garden Club style!!
