Well, as usual, there is so much going on that we missed the Houston Quilt Show again. If you have the opportunity to go, you really should go and see what all the fuss is about.
It is a wonderful exhibit of beautiful quilts from all over the world. Quilters live vicariously through other quilters, so if you do get to go, be sure to come by and tell me about it. This is a sad day, I really miss not getting to go, but I have a new friend who is not only going to the show, but she is modeling in the “Wearable Arts” style show. Dee Merrell won a door prize at our quilt show in September and she came by last week to pick it up. She is an excited quilter and was very anxious to share her love of quilting with me. I saw several quilts that she was working on and she told me that she had made an object that she was going to model at the Houston Quilt Show. She was very excited about this, as I was. She is going to bring pictures and I will do another story on her and her wearable art project later. Dee is a member of the Quilt Guild in Wimberley and she took part in the display that the Blanco Library held for the month of September on Kids Quilts. If you missed that one, you missed a treat. We will be waiting to hear from Dee and her adventures.
Meanwhile, if you know of any shows coming up this fall and winter, please let me know about them. I am so ready to travel, but it has to fit in with my schedule. Houston, maybe next year…………
Happy Quilting, Janie
