The LBJHS staff invites parents to come “Meet the Teachers” on Friday, September 5th, 2008 from 5:00 to 6:30pm before heading to Shockley Field for the Varsity Eagles home Football opener at 7:30pm. Copies of student schedules will be available and teachers will be in their classrooms ready to greet parents during the “come-and-go” program, which will also include a Hamburger Plate Supper by the Eagle Athletic Boosters in the cafeteria. The cost of a burger plate is $5.00; Eagle Athletic Booster Club memberships and spirit items will also be on sale.

An additional highlight of the evening will be parent training on the Parent Connection online grade and attendance viewer available for all LBJHS parents through the JCISD district website. Trainings will be in the High School Library through-out the evening with a new slide show beginning every 15 minutes. Parents who used the Parent Connection last year may continue to use their password and login, but are welcome to attend the training. Temporary login and password information for new Parent Connection users will be available at the training.

“We had a great turn-out last year for our Meet the Teacher, as well as our two Parent/Teacher Conference Days,” stated LBJHS Principal Julie Storer. “The current research indicates that a strong connection between school and home is vital for student success in high school – this is a great opportunity to make that connection early so we can have a great 2008-2009 school year.” For more information about the Meet the Teacher or the Parent Connection contact the LBJ High School Office at 868-4025.
