Funeral services for Betty Schnell, 68, of La Grange were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Bragdon officiated. Interment followed in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Betty died on July 20. Betty Jean Schnell was born October 15, 1939 in Granger, the daughter of Alfred Christ and Otillie Agustina (Cervenka) Lindemann. She married Leon “Jim” Adlin Schnell on September 2, 1956 at Trinity Hill Lutheran Church in La Grange. Betty liked fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her father and her father and mother-in-law, Adlin and Bertha Schnell. Survivors include: daughter, Deborah Lynn Pietsch and husband Bobby of La Grange; son, Dennis Wayne Schnell and wife Marlene of La Grange; daughter, Beverly Ann McCoy and husband Joe of La Grange; mother, Otillie Ann Lindemann of Johnson City; grandchildren, Keith Arlen Schnell and wife Grace of Marble Falls; Brandon Lee, Justin Blake, and Lauren Faye Schnell all of La Grange; Weston Carl and Whitney Ayn McCoy of La Grange; Quirt McCoy and wife Aleisha of La Grange; Joellen McCoy of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Taylor and Tori McCoy; Ty Boedeker; goddaughter, Krystal Carrero of FL; brother, Fred Lindemann and wife Peggy of Rockport; sister, Anna Marie Barker and husband Delman of Blanco; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorials may be given to the Mt. Cavalry Lutheran Men’s Club BBQ Pit Fund, La Grange Vol. Fire Dept. or Relay for Life. Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange were in charge of arrangements.
