Things are still happening here. We sit on the porch and share what we can and just have a good time.

It has been a nice and quiet week around here and it looks like another quiet week.

We got some much needed rain and you can already tell the difference in the yards around here. Everything looks greener and smells cleaner. We can still use some more rain, so folks, let’s get together and do that rain dance one more time for not only our yards, but also for the firemen who volunteer their time to help in all the fires around here. We seldom remember to say thank you to the firemen, but we do thank you for your time and help in all you do for our community.

Our community room is getting some touch up painting done. When you are out and about, come and check out the simple changes done to our community room. It has been a pleasant surprise and it really open up the area and made it look so much larger.

My husband and I had a blow out on our car. Finding and getting a new tire was a job, but we were blessed by a real nice gentleman helping us. We also went to Fredericksburg and checked out Wildseed Farms. What a beautiful sight.

August 1st is right around the corner and with that comes a lot of activities in and around town. Watch the newspaper for some fun times.

On August 4th, 2008 at 10:00 am to ??? – come and play dominoes at our community room. This is something we just started. We have a group that started playing train and then we have regular dominoes also.

On August 6th, 2008, remember the Food Pantry at the Annex from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is just another service to our community.

Food for thought: There are many good qualities in people. One quality is that they are at peace with themselves. They just seem to glow and you love being around them.
