A hand shake and his word. The rules that this Texas Hill Country farmer and rancher lived by! He lived what he learned from his father and mother, John Walton and Clara Levada Smith.
Born December 03, 1918, at Rough Hollow just east of Johnson City, Texas. Crossed over to His Heavenly Father July 17, 2008, at Round Mountain, Texas. It was at this home, that he and his wife Mary Ivy Brown Smith lived and raised two daughters, Mary Evonne Brooks and Sherry Levada Jenkins. Lest we forget his faithful friend and companion “Missy” the “dachshund“.
The “Peach Man,” whom many knew him by, was a proud title. He never met a stranger and made many life friends along the way.
Love of the land, family and friends was in all aspects of his life.
A “Proud Texan”, his family settled in Blanco County in the mid 1800‘s. Born and raised in Blanco County until his death. At his death he was 89 years, 7 months and 14 days.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 plus years, Mary Ivy; and grandson and namesake George Montgomery (Monty) Anderson.
Survived by his daughters and son-in-laws: Evonne and Cecil Brooks, and Sherry and Paul Jenkins all reside at Sandy, Texas; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren
He wanted folks to know that his word was truth, honesty and a shake was his seal!

Harold Marshall
Harold Marshall of Round Mountain, Texas passed away July 14th, 2008 at the L.B.J. Medical Center, Johnson City, Texas. Harold was born to Charles Henry Marshall and Mable (Pigman) Marshall August 23, 1910 in Ord, Nebraska. He is survived by two brothers, Richard and Wilbert and one sister, Harriet. All reside in California. He also has the Gott and Cantrell family of Round Mountain, Texas and will rest in peace next to his beloved wife, Florence (Beals) Marshall in the Round Mountain Cemetery, Round Mountain, Texas. Harold’s life was long and full. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and a man of many interests. A very interesting man to talk to, when you could get him to talk, a quiet thoughtful man who will be missed by his friends and family, who is now resting with his loved ones in the arms of the Lord.
