Things are still happening here. We sit on the porch and share what we can and just have a good time.
To those who need a summer fan, please stop by 304 S. Ave. F., Johnson City, Texas. This is designed for eldercare; however, families may come in for a summer fan. Just sign up and take your fan for as long as we have them on hand. These fans come from the Community Resource Center, Texas Housing Foundation of Marble Falls, Texas and they are free. A big thank you goes to them.
We had quite the week around here last week. The Foot Clinic is always a big success plus Gretchen Sanders was here with a presentation. We then had our Third Friday Luncheon. This was a very big success. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy, and tea provided by Texas Home Health and JCHA. The tenants each brought a dish of their own and we had everything from deviled eggs to peach cobbler. We had approximately 48 plates served counting the plates that we delivered to the home bound. What a meal and what great laughter. Texas Home Health is also having another meal for us on August 6th and 7th, 2008 at El Rancho. There will be a brief presentation and then a meal. Tenants, be sure and call in on those cards we received from Texas Home Health.
Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB ) was here on Monday the 21st. There was a wonderful turn out for this. This is available every third Monday of the month. This is a great service for all of us in Blanco County and we truly find it helpful to many. Thank you CAFB.
I will be a great, great grandmother soon. Isn’t that what makes our world go around? I have a daughter due for surgery soon and I need to have a little surgery done myself. I am actually looking forward to this because I know that the results will be that I feel better and can run around doing all the things that I love to do.
Well things will get a little quieter this next week. We do need rain and we pray for rain. So everybody let us do the rain dance together.
Food for thought: When special people come to mind, we should take some time to tell them.
