JC FFA Annual Convention
Last week the Johnson City FFA went to Lubbock for their annual convention. There were 10,000 students from all over the state of Texas that attended. I can truly say that I was overcome with all these wonderful teenagers. Our school sent 11 students with their Ag teachers and two chaperones. This was truly an uplifting experience—the outgoing officers speeches were started out with bible verses. I just wish the news media could have heard them, what a different view they would have on the teenagers of today. Our students were well mannered and were a pleasure.
There were 1320 students that received the Lone Star Farmers award—boy that was great. Johnson City had 2 students: D.C. Bundy and Ashley Sultemeier.
I hope that if you get asked to be a chaperone, you will say yes. It will truly be a very wonderful experience.
I would also like to mention that we had a wonderful navigator—Debbie Sultemeier.
In closing I would like to say what great Ag teachers and students we have!!! Be sure to keep a watch on them. I have heard the wildlife team means to take state.
Sincerely,
