Free Movies under the Stars will be shown at the Lyndon Johnson Ranch, just like in the drive-in movie days. The dates are July 26 for Oliver! and Aug. 9 for Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. These are movies LBJ showed at his ranch

and invited community members in to watch.

Bring the whole family, chairs, blankets, jackets, flashlight and your picnic basket beginning about 6:00 pm for the fun activities. The movie will begin about dark. The movies will be presented by Blue Moon Cinemas using a professional inflatable screen and sound system. Moviegoers can spread out and enjoy the show.

Oliver! Is a 1968 musical version of the Dickens novel about a young boy living in an orphanage who becomes involved with an unruly gang of thieves led by an evil old man. It lasts about 2 ½ hours.

Enter at the LBJ State Park and Historic Site on Highway 290, one mile east of Stonewall and 14 miles west of Johnson City. National Park rangers will direct cars to the airstrip behind the Johnson ranch house.

For more information, call 830-868-7128, ext. 231 or 244 or check www.lbj100.org . The next LBJ Centennial event will be the opening of President Johnson’s restored office in the Texas White House on his 100th birthday, August 27.
