Golfers are invited to play to support college scholarships for Hill Country students. The fifth annual Red & Black Golf Classic sponsored by the Hill Country Chapter of the Texas Tech Alumni Association will be held Saturday, September 6 at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course, Fredericksburg TX. Registration and lunch at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm.

This year’s tournament is dedicated to the memory of Gary Hecht (TTU, 1969), an active member of the Hill Country Chapter from Kerrville who died unexpectedly in June.

Entry fee is $80 per person, which includes $5 for a skins pot. Teams are encouraged, but the golf pro can match up players. The fee includes registration, lunch, a goodie bag, and an after play social and awards party. Many prizes are available.

Proceeds from the tournament will fund scholarships for Hill Country students attending the Lubbock campus and Texas Tech University at Fredericksburg. The chapter has recently awarded over $15,000 in scholarships for the upcoming fall semester.
