Three very interesting art galleries on Nugent Ave in Johnson City will be hosting receptions for their new exhibitions on Saturday January 28th from 4-8 pm. Taste Wine + Art at 213 N Nugent, the largest of the venues, has mounted a spectacular show entitled EXTREME COLOR. The show features six Texas painters, showing almost 50 works. This range presents a pleasant variety of works by these masters of utilizing color, each in their own way. A. Smith Gallery at 105 N Nugent, specializes in fine art photography. This new exhibition entitled WINTER was curated by the esteemed photographic expert and juror, Jean Caslin, an art consultant and the former Director of the Houston Center for Photography. Ms Caslin has chosen an exquisite collection of fifty-two images depicting the coldest season. LMC Murals, across the street from A. Smith Gallery at 104 N Nugent, features the amazing works of Lee Casbeer and his brother Matt. Classically trained in Italy, the brothers Casbeer travel the world painting fabulous murals. Visit this wonderful studio to see what murals they have been completing, as well as what easel paintings are currently available. The three galleries change everything at least every six weeks, so you will always see new and exciting works when you visit. Make the short trip to Johnson City to enjoy fine art, wine, food, and interact with some very interesting people.
