On January 8, nine girls from Johnson City competed at the Cheer America competition in Austin representing the Elite Cheer Company. They are on teams ranging from Sizzlers (level 1 show team), Wildfire (senior level 2), to Crossfire (youth level 3) as well as one on Sol (senior hip hop dance team). The girls have been practicing at least four hours a week since the summer perfecting their tumbling, dancing and stunting skills. At this competition we are excited to report that Sol won grand champion, Crossfire and Sol both won first place, Wildfire won second place and Sizzlers won trophies. The girls participating are Laryssa Alvarado, Susie Alvarado, Kendalyn Burdette, Macey Francis, Cheyenne Jackson, Hailey Pistole, Ashtyn Portie, Sarah Shumake, and Alyssa Wheeler. Way to go girls!
