The San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E.) Ambassador Committee participates in community goodwill tours promoting the Stock Show and Rodeo each January. They made a little stop in Johnson City where they were greeted by the Extension Agency along with members of the Johnson City FFA, Chamber of Commerce and many other community members. This year the S.A.L.E. Committee has made a commitment of $9 million in the form of scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, the Calf Scramble Program and show premiums paid to youth. Over 5,000 Texas youth have benefited from the S.A.L.E. Scholarship Fund. The Committee presented the Johnson City FFA a check for $300 to put towards the Premium Sale for our local County Stock Show that will take place on January 26th thru January 28th. The Sale is held on January 28th. February 9, 2012, marks the 63rd Anniversary of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
