Local girls named contest winners

The Arvesen girls wer announced as winners in the KLRU’s Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrator’s Contest.

Kaitlyn Arvesen won 3rd place for her story ‘Tenor’s Dream’ and Makayla won honorable mention for her story ‘A Problem in Numberland’.

Kids in Austin and throughout the Central Texas area entered the contest. Kaitlyn is in 3rd grade in Mrs. Woods’ class and Makayla is in 1st grade in Mrs. Cowsert’s class. They will be attending an awards ceremony at Child Inc. in Austin this Saturday, May 17th.
