Ricky Gene Crider
Ricky Gene Crider, 48, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008. He was born in Johnson City to Charlie and Pauline Crider.
Ricky served his country with the U.S. Navy. His opinion of a perfect day would be spent playing golf. He was a member of the Roy Kizer Golf Course. He also spent much of his spare time on his Harley Davidson.
Ricky will be remembered as a man who loved his family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Crider. Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Dusty Crider; daughters, Amanda McIntyre and husband Nick, and Lauren Steitle and husband Matthew; step-daughter, Aubry McKey; brother, Gary Crider and wife Judy; grandchildren, Ayla McIntyre and Landon Steitle; father and mother-in-law, John and Darla Knight; and sister-in-law, Wendy Knight. He is also survived by many other loving friends and relatives. Pallbearers will be Jud Stringer, Joe Volpe, Cody Hardin, Cole Hardin, Lynn Crider, Glenn Crider, Nick McIntyre, and Matthew Steitle.
Visitation was from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2008 at Crofts Funeral Home, Johnson City, and funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning. Interment followed in Sandy Cemetery, Sandy, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to any organization for the benefit of children.
Dorothy Barbara Zoeller Kneupper
Dorothy Barbara Zoeller Kneupper went to be with our Lord on May 11th, 2008, at the age of 85 years. We rejoice that she is now with our Savior, and fondly remember her life and love. Born April 8, 1923, Dorothy spent her early years in Boerne, Texas with her beloved mother, father, and two sisters. She graduated from Boerne High School and later attended Mary Hardin Baylor College. She married Emil Kneupper on November 7th, 1943 in New Braunfels, Texas, and settled down to live the rest of her life on the Kneupper family ranch in Kendalia, Texas. There, she raised two daughters, Karen Kneupper Nicholson and Karla Kneupper Mathis. Dorothy was quite active in her community and was well-loved by her many friends. She loved to travel and prided herself in her homemaking abilities. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning and pickling the many vegetables from Emil’s homegrown garden.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Emil Kneupper; daughter Karen Nicholson and husband Jim of Midland, Texas; daughter Karla Mathis and husband Wayne of Kendalia, Texas; granddaughters, Karrie Mathis Simpson and husband Kenneth; Kendall Mathis Daughett and husband Mason; Krystal Mathis; Jamie Nicholson and fiancé Matt Lankes; and Jody Nicholson; and great-grandchildren Kenny, Kennedy and Kenton Simpson. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Kendalia Volunteer Fire Department or Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco, Texas.
Her funeral service was Wednesday, May 14th at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco, Texas. She will always live in our hearts.
Pall bearers were Kenneth Simpson, Mason Daughett, Dr. Pat Mathis, Frank Brussel, Bobby Schwab and Ray Baker.
Otto Richard Sultemeier
Otto Richard Sultemeier, 92, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born in Sandy, TX to Adolph and Emma Rech Sultemeier. Otto is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Maxine Stevenson Sultemeier; son, Perry Sultemeier and wife Cindy of Johnson City; daughter, Kay Williams of Johnson City; sister, Emma Lou Mohle and husband Paul of Lockhart, TX; five grandchildren, Cody Swope, Kimberly Terry, Zane Swope, Cindy Kay Sultemeier, and Brent Sultemeier; and great grandchildren, Candice and Katie Terry and Noah and Caleb Swope. Mr. Sultemeier is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Crofts Funeral Home, where funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Monday morning. Interment will followed in Post Oak Cemetery, Johnson City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Post Oak Cemetery Association.
