Well, I am on the road again. I took a weekend trip to Goldthwaite a couple of weeks ago to see my grandkids and guess what, Brownwood had a Quilt Show going on. Two for one, what a deal!!!!!!! I left here on Saturday and headed out. It was very hot when I left town and my weatherman did not tell me that the temperature was going to drop 40 degrees on Sunday. We got up to go to Brownwood and it was rainy and cold. I only had shorts, but I always carry my raggy jacket in the car, along with a small quilt. We loaded up, just girls, and headed to Brownwood. My daughter-in-law, Jana, was my driver for the day. She did a great job. We met Jackie, my sister who lives in May, TX., at Humphrey Pete’s for lunch and from there we went to the Coliseum for the Quilt Show. It was great. They had so many pretty quilts and lots of vendors from the area and other towns. We looked at so many pretty projects and did some shopping at the show. Jana’s mother belongs to the Guild that hosted the show and we got a royal welcome when we arrived. I knew some of the other ladies from my two-month stint in Goldthwaite. The last time I was in this building, my son was graduating from Howard Payne University.

After the show, we found the new Quilt Shop in Brownwood. She had lots of pretty fabric, but about the same size as my shop. The owner here was fascinated with my raggy jacket, so I sent her the pattern for it when I got home. I hope they remember where they got it. Free advertising is always welcome. I have been very fortunate to talk to so many quilters and when they find out you have a shop; they want directions to find it. From this shop, we left Jackie and headed back to Goldthwaite. I had a wonderful week-end and enjoyed visiting with my family there.

Happy Quilting, Janie
