FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ACTIVITY CENTER IN JOHNSON CITY. AGRITOURISM, ECOTOURISM, NATURE TOURISM, WILDLIFE AND NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY, HUNTING, FISHING AND ADVENTURE OPERATIONS: ARE THEY THE FUTURE OR JUST A HILL COUNTRY DREAM? Todd Swift, our Blanco County Agrilife Agent, has arranged to have Miles Phillips, the "specialist" in Nature Tourism for the Texas Agrilife Extenson Service, speak at our SEVENTH ANNUAL PEDERNALES WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT CO-OP MEETING at 4:00 pm Saturday, September 18th, in the First United Methodist Church Activity Center in downtown Johnson City. Miles Phillips will be speaking on wildlife conservation and the consumptive and non-consumptive economic uses of wildlife and nature for community economic development. Mr. Phillips has his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with a minor in Marketing from the University of Illinois and his Master of Science Degree in Parks and Recreation Management from the University of West Virginia. Mr. Phillips’ topic should prove most interesting and educational as our Blanco County Hill Country ranchers consider opportunities to diversify their ranch activities to capitalize on the Nature Tourism potential of our Blanco County rangeland. THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ACTIVITY CENTER IS LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF AVENUE E AND NORTH PECAN STREET IN JOHNSON CITY. THE TIME IS 4:00 PM. THE DATE IS SEPTEMBER 18TH. As with our six previous meetings, we are inviting the general public to join us at the meeting and lecture FREE 0F CHARGE. THE LECTURE AND MEETING SHOULD NOT EXCEED ONE HOUR AND A HALF. We appreciate Blanco County’s support and interest in the Pedernales Wildlife Management Coop and look forward to seeing you at the First United Methodist Church 4:00 pm on September 18th to welcome Miles Phillips and learn more about Nature Tourism in the Texas Hill Country.
