Searching for success.... what is success? Well to answer that question, success is anything you want it to be. Two Johnson City FFA Officers, Kendra Smith (Chaplain) and Ashley Bargsley (Reporter), set out on a mission for success by attending the 2010 Area VII Leadership Camp at McKinney Roughs Nature park in Cedar Creek, Texas.
The camp was hosted by the 2010-2011 Area VII FFA Officers (David Holland, Shelbie Thames, Daniel Haverlah, Kylie Bradley, Taylor Wetz, and Bobbie Frieda) on June 26th-June 28th.
It was there that Kendra and Ashley took off on an adventure in learning leadership skills, making new friends, and preparing for the future. They attended Group Sessions with their officer leaders and made up skits, songs, and chants, all while bettering themselves as leaders. They attended vespers, went on scavenger hunts, and even mixed it up a little bit by attending a dance.
On the last night, they attended a banquet handing out awards for their achievements while at camp and planned our Areas incoming State Officer(Daylon Koster’s) chant for the state convention ("Daylon, Daylon, he’s our man, no one can beat the magic man"). The next day, on the 28th, the girls packed up and headed home to share their new enlightenment while at camp.
