The Johnson City Quilters Guild meet on July 22, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church located on County Road 213.
Sue Carter from Honeybees Quilt Shop in Austin gave a demonstration titled "How to draft a Pattern – How to Miniaturize a Pattern". We were furnished with graph paper, colored pencils and an information sheet. We started with a pattern that would be a 12" square finished and learned how to make it smaller.
During Show and Tell we saw the beginnings of a king sized Dresden Plate pattern quilt top, a member shared her Zipper Bag, several members showed their Round Robin Challenge quilt top. 15 preemie quilts and 19 preemie outfits were made for the Threads of Love program. 20 Ouch Pouches were given to the Marble Falls Quilt Guild and 15 more were handed in at this meeting. We saw cookie bags, an unusual bag with Velcro fasteners, placemats and pillow cases. Beautiful, colorful quilts.
We are a teaching Guild with members who love quilts and share their knowledge.
Meetings are on the 4th Thursday of each month, 7:00 pm at the Good Shepherd Church and are open to all. For more information call Janie Moreland at 868-7361 or Charlotte Matthews at 868-0940.
