Cheri Dawn Harwell Rest in Peace Mom
Cheri Dawn Harwell, 83, passed away July 8, 2010 in Johnson City, Texas. A mother to all, a wonderful artist and dressmaker, she was a country girl raised in Alpine and Pipe Creek, Texas. She was married to career Air Force officer Sterling Harwell, who loved her for all their 62 years together. They had 3 children, adopted 7 and unofficially adopted nearly 100 more. There was always room for one more at the table.
Cheri was born to Claude Cecil Harrison and Maudie Rodgers Harrison in San Angelo, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling B. Harwell; sons, Brian and Sterling R. Harwell; daughter, Dawnette Estrada; brothers, David and Duane Harrison; and sisters, Beulah Jean Ayers and Vida Luanne Rancher. She is survived by brother, Travis Raymond Harrison; sons, Johnny, Jimmy, and Glenn; daughters, Cheri Mayfield, Jana Black, Samantha Odell, Amber Nicholas, and Cathy O’Connor; and by twenty-one grandchildren & nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Blanco United Methodist Church at 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 with Rev. Ken Greene officiating. Graveside services followed at 2:30PM at the Pipe Creek Cemetery, Pipe Creek, Tx. Officiated by nephew Rev. Darrell Ayers.
