Well, here we are with a new month. I hope everybody had a nice July 4th.

I became a great, great, grandmother once again. Her name is Samantha Charlene and she was born @ midnight on June 30, 2010. I hear that she is really beautiful.

Despite continuing heavy rain in portions of southern Texas and northern Mexico, Alex was expected to dissipate Thursday night over Mexico’s high terrain. The season’s first named storm was downgraded earlier Thursday from hurricane status after making landfall Wednesday night as a Category 2 hurricane. Hurricane Alex has brought us some much needed rain. To us, the rain has been a blessing and to others it has created some havoc. We pray for those who have to deal with the bad effects of Hurricane Alex. God Bless you.

We will have our next Bible Study on July 8th, 2010 @ 304 S Ave F, Johnson City, Texas. It will start @ 4:00 pm. Anyone that would like to attend, please do so. Refreshments are provided and our study is done with open discussion. You will enjoy it, please come and join us.

We will have Bingo on July 12th, 2010 @ 1:00 pm. Bingo will be sponsored by Girling and our famous Karen Barksdale will do the Bingo calling.

A reminder that we have a program in our building called Combined Community Action (Meals on Wheels). Elizabeth Sooter can be contacted @ 830-868-4173 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This program is appreciated in our community and has with it a wonderful voluntary support system. PEC employees use their lunch hour to deliver to the homebound and then meals are also served in our building @ 304 S. Ave. F., Johnson City, Texas. Please contact Elizabeth on the days and hours listed above.

We still have our Joyce Segura in the hospital. She is missed and we are a little anxious to have her home.

Food for thought: "And life is what we make it. Always has been, and always will be." ….. Grandma Moses
