Thimbleberries Quilt Class is always fun to go to but this week was a little different. We had our 5 at the Hive class first which is the $5.00 class. You start the first month by paying $5.00 for your block and each month after you get your block free if you have your block from the previous month finished. It is a great class and lots of fun. It is called 5 at the Hive because it is in Austin at Honeybees, thus the Hive (bees) and it is the $5.00 class.
On to Thimbleberries, we usually have two or three blocks that are due here and we do not have to keep up with them, but I have kept up with them for 6 months now.
We do a show and tell and usually go home but today we had a celebration of the 4th of July. We had a Potluck Luncheon...you know, when everyone brings a dish. We had ham, salads, desserts, and lots of real good food right in the middle of all the activity on a Saturday at a quilt shop. It was a very pleasant change and we all enjoyed it.
It is nice to have routine in your day and in your life, but it is also nice to be able to break routine every now and then. At the beginning of my week I do my story-routine, but who knows where the rest of the week may take me, breaking from my routine. Some people just have one day a week that they quilt. My motto for quilting is "I only quilt on days that end in Y".
Happy Quilting, Janie
