Sergeant Gary Lee Weaver of Johnson City, a highly decorated disabled Vietnam Veteran was presented with a beautiful July 4th cake just before the parade on Sunday by several members of the American Legion Memorial Highway Auxiliary Unit 352 of Blanco. The red, white, and blue cake with a large American flag read "Thank You Sergeant Weaver". Gary Weaver served three tours in Vietnam and received the Silver Star as well as several Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, and numerous other awards and commendations.
