Well, here we are at the end of June 2010 already. Where is the year going? Seems time just keeps passing, rather quickly I might add. Just think about this, July 4th is this Sunday. In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. However you celebrate July 4th, we wish you a happy one! Our office will be closed on July 5th, 2010.
We still gather at different porches and catch up on the news and do our fair share of gossiping, but we have fun doing it. It has been a little hot for us so this causes some of us to have short visits on our porches.
We do have some pretty yards around here. Some people just seem to have a green thumb for their yards while the rest of us just watch. A good way to get cool is to spend time at our City Pool. It is always managed so well and you will have a good time and get cooled off at the same time.
Folks, do not forget the Food Pantry is on July 7th, 2010 at the Annex. It is a great service for us.
Our Tenant Association will have their meeting on July 7th, 2010 at 4:00 pm. Please come as they are planning a FREE luncheon for us tenants on the 16th. I am sure that they can use some help in planning and setting things up for the 16th. See you there.
We will have our next Bible Study on July 8th, 2010 at 304 S Ave F, Johnson City, Texas. It will start at 4:00 pm. Anyone that would like to attend, please do so. Refreshments are provided and our study is done with open discussion. You will enjoy it, please come.
I wish everyone who has a July birthday "Happy Birthday." I also wish my grandson, Zane Bible, a "Happy Birthday."
