Jackie and I took off to the big city of Dripping Springs to pay a visit to the Wesley Gallery. They were holding the Austin Fiber Artist Show & Sale. This was such an unusual show. We did not know what to expect.
We entered and were greeted by very enthusiastic people. They love their art and were proud of it. There were quilts, wearable art items such as vest and scarf’s, paintings and prints, hand designed jewelry, pottery and hand blown vases.
The quilt I most liked was a sunflower wall hanging spirited from the log cabin block. There was a gorgeous silk scarf with just little abstracts painted on it, beautiful prints of wildflowers and my favorite that I picked out for my birthday (not until December) was a miniature hand blown vase. They were very delicate and no more than 1 inch in height. They were very pretty and I have a collection of very small vases and pitchers so I can’t wait until December to add one of these to my collection. (Maybe I won’t wait)
Happy Quilting, Janie
