Dr. A’Lann Truelock, Assistant Superintendent of Johnson City Independent School District, recently attended the 81st annual Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha State Convention held in Waco, Texas on June 17-19th where she was installed as President of Nu Chapter. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an educational organization established in 1929 to promote professional and personal growth of key women educators and excellence in education guided by seven Purposes: To Unite women educators of the world in genuine spiritual fellowship; to Honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in the field of education; to Advance the professional interest and position of women in education; to Initiate, Endorse and Support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education; to Endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study; to Stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action; and to Inform members of current economic, social, political and educational issues to that they may participate effectively in a world society.
