As newly installed pastor of Community Church of the Hills, Michael Meek brings both experience and enthusiasm. He says:
"I believe God has called me as pastor of Community Church of the Hills to Johnson City in order to help grow the Body of Christ.
I look forward to getting to know the community and helping to make Johnson City a more wonderful place — a place to raise families, to enjoy life, and to retire. CCH is a wonderful place to come to worship, to serve, and to grow."
Raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Pastor Michael Meek was called to ministry at age 16. He graduated from Howard Payne University in 1993 and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999. An ordained minister since 1999, he has served as youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and certified pastoral counselor. Much of his counseling work has been through Westwood Ministries in Kerrville. Additionally, Michael is a self-employed real estate investor.
Michael’s wife, Dawsie, who is founder of Moving Forward Ministry, is a much sought-after speaker and teacher who is as careful a student of the Word as she is a passionate teacher of its message. Furthermore, she is a gifted minister in song. Dawsie received her training from Howard Payne and Houston-Baptist universities. She is a woman after God’s heart who seeks excellence in every area. Along with and alongside her husband, Dawsie has also been involved in mission work, discipleship, counseling, and church planting.
Michael and Dawsie Meek are the proud parents of three children: Janie(15), Joe(14), and Daniel(10). We welcome them to Community Church of the Hills and to Johnson City.
