The Second Act Troupe will present more live theatre in Johnson City at 3 pm on Sunday June 13 in the Activity Center of the United Methodist Church.
The Company will perform three one act comedies under the umbrella title "Three Acts of Deception". Call (512) 618-3355 for information or reservations with preferred seating.
In "Book Keeping" Edwin is compiling a little blue book and has so far listed the names and physical attributes of 48 women. His wife Phyllis is naturally unaware of this and would clearly be unhappy if she ever found it.
In "Crossing the Bar" Margaret and Gretchen are in a funeral parlor eulogizing a deceased man who has been involved in both their lives for 40 years. In both cases, theirs was a completely platonic relationship so it becomes quite a shock to discover that the man they sanctified had a totally different relationship with a third woman.
In "How He Lied to Her Husband", a classic comedy by George Bernard Shaw, poet Henry Apjohn idolizes Aurora Bompas and has expressed his feelings of devotion for her in the numerous poems he has composed and sent to her. Aurora dramatically informs Henry that she has lost the poems and believes they may have ended up in the possession of her husband, Teddy.
