Summertime was just around the corner, and we were all anticipating next school year, as the Johnson City 2009-2010 FFA Officers, Noel Porter, Zachary Denton, Megan Marks, Kayla Meier, Chandler Wagoner, Ashley Bargsley, Shania Dubose, and Kelly Wright were seated at Mr. Lindy’s "Segal’s High Heaven" at Capstone Ranch. There they brainstormed, and came up with a 5 X 8 trailer with a 325 gallon water tank, for their community service project that they donate every year. This trailer was built for the Blanco County Master Gardeners, to be used for watering the flowers and landscapes to help make Johnson City "green". Susan Hamm of Blanco County Master Gardeners was instrumental in coordinating the project with the FFA chapter. This trailer was built by the students enrolled in Myron Uecker’s 2009-2010 welding classes at Johnson City High School. The project wouldn’t have been possible without the generous donations of Hye Pipe and Feed, PMI Pipe, R.B. Felps, Bob Felps, Matt and Leandy Pletcher, Bill Elsbury, David OBannon, Will and Bob Shelton, David Shanley, Dorothy Theriot, Pecan Street Brewers and Restaurant, David and Susan Hamm, The Johnson City Sign Shop, and the Johnson City FFA Chapter. T&E Rainwater will be donating the pump for the trailer. We look forward to seeing the success of our project and would also like to give one big thank you to all our donors. Thank You!
