Well, the quilt hop is over and all the passports have been turned in (all 750) and if you read the paper last week, you already know that Louise Paterson won the whole rodeo. Yep, she won that huge basket of goodies. She will not need to come see me at Not Too Shabby for quite a while. We had three quilting ladies in Johnson City and Blanco that were winners. Louise won the big prize, Marjorie Latham won a smaller basket, and Nancy Talley won a gift certificate from Pocketful of Poseys in Fredericksburg. Those were pretty good odds, to have three of your quilting ladies win prizes. We were all excited and what a fun trip we had. Maybe next year we can take a larger group. Some of these ladies went on their own, but they still won and still live in Johnson City. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!

Louise Paterson brought her stash to Quilter’s Guild last month and let everyone there choose a prize. Wasn’t that great? If you missed that meeting, you missed a good one. She had only one stipulation, that you show her what you wanted and if it was something she wanted to keep, she would tell us and we would have to choose something else. We had lots of fun looking, as there was lots to look at. Thank you Louise.

We are all busy getting ready for our Quilt Show in September. Ladies, if you have anything you would like to enter, just contact a member of the guild. We want this to be our biggest and best show ever. We are doing lots of advertising and hope that it will pay off. Get those UFO’s finished and stay busy. Quilting is fun and relaxing. There will be several quilts given away at the Volunteer Fireman’s Fish Fry this week-end so be there and maybe you will be as lucky as the three mentioned above and go home with a beautiful quilt. See you there.

Happy Quilting, Janie
