The 8th Annual Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry, Raffle and Auction will get underway once again this Saturday, May 10th at the Fair Grounds in Johnson City. Serving will begin at 5 pm with raffle, silent and live auction to follow. Shortly after the live auction wraps up, The Mike Clifford Band will take the stage and play untill 1AM. So pull your boots out of the closet and come on down and join the JCVFD for some great music and dancing.

Once again the JCVFD will serve fried catfish with all the fixings along with a homemade dessert from one of your favorite Blanco County bakers. The meal will be served in the Exhibit Hall. The charge for the meal is, as always, just a donation at the door. There will be a drive thru for those of you who cannot stay and enjoy the event but wish to get a plate for yourself and the family.

The raffle is jam packed with many great prizes and is continuing to grow daily. The list of prizes includes: 14 guns, fishing trip for 4, 2- $500 savings bonds, digital camera, copper fire pit, many gift certificates from your local Johnson City Merchants, fishing tackle, quilts and much much more. The raffle is the one of the largest the fire department has ever had. Tickets are available from your local fire fighters and at Ronnie’s BBQ, Johnson City Bank, Cattleman’s National Bank, Odiorne Feed and the Record Courier and as always will be on sale at the fish fry. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.00. There will also be a silent auction with many nice items for you to bid on along with the ever popular live auction. Of the 14 guns there are 3 in the live auction along with a BBQ pit, cedar bubba cooler and much more. Come and bring your family to this event. It is one you do not want to miss.

The silent auction will end promptly at 7 pm so don’t forget to get by there and see if there is something you just can’t live with out.

The meal includes fried catfish, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, pickles, tea and a dessert. Serving will begin at 5 pm. The kitchen will once again be under the direction of Cora Byars and June Dahmann. The men and women who will cook this year include Kermit Roeder, George Danz, Melvin Sultemeier, Bobby Fenton, Stanley Kent, Frank and Brenda Haynes, Paul and Tammie Marrs, Randell Sultemeier and many more.

Todd Swift will do the honors and emcee this years’ event and Tim Jeanes will return as the auctioneer for our live auction.

Come out and enjoy a wonderful time at the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department fish fry. It will be a great time again this year for all.
