Many of you visited the Library during our recent Book Sale to benefit the Friends of the Library, we have some good news. We sold $1,117.00 in books, DVD’s, and games, our silent auction brought in $285.00, for a total of $1,402.00. That was wonderful, but not only did we make the money to pay toward the debt on the Library, we got to meet many of you, hear outstanding comments about our Library, and bring smiles to our customers!

We had one gentlemen who came on the last day when we had a special, all the books you could put in a cloth bag for $5, he just kept saying I can’t believe this, he filled up three bags and couldn’t wait to get started reading. We had a big selection of children’s books, best sellers, and classics, all donated by the community, we were blessed!

Kay Culp was the chairperson for the sale this year and she did an outstanding job of organizing, and signing up volunteers to run the sale. We had lots of help from Friends members, and everyone is looking forward to the next sale. We have planned another sale next year, this will be an annual event, so save those good books to donate next year.

The Friends of the Library is going strong we have a long list of members, but we would like to add your name to this list, there are brochures at the Library, pick one up, read what the Friends is about, and join the bandwagon, support your Library, and help us pay the remaining debt, this is your Library, use it, enjoy it, and support it!!
