Monday, April 19th the Lady Eagles competed well, but were defeated by the Blanco Panthers 1-5. Leading the offense by hitting singles were Lacy Butler, Savanah Woodcock, Elizabeth O’Day, and Tamara Nacel. Alex Houston pitched a great game with seven strike-outs. Adrienne Pabon had an amazing catch in center field. Kendyll Kohlleppel, Kayla Jernigan, Kacie Cantwell, and Lacy Butler led the defense in the infield.

Tuesday, April 20th the Lady Eagles had a decisive win over Harper in five innings 10-0. The defense was led by Alex Houston who pitched an amazing game with eight strike-outs. Adrienne Pabon, Savanah Woodcock, and Lacy Butler had an exceptional double play with a throw from the centerfielder to the catcher at home and then back to 2nd base. Kayla Jernigan also played great defense with an out at first, second, and third. Leading the offense with RBI’s were Lacy Butler, Savanah Woodcock, Adrienne Pabon, Elizabeth O’Day, and Tamara Nacel. Finishing the game with strong defense were Kacie Cantwell, Madison Fountaine, Jessie Rios, Brittany Harris, and Jacy Johnson.

Friday, April 23rd the Lady Eagles clinched their 2nd place standing in district by defeating Comfort 4-0. Alex Houston pitched a nearly perfect game with six strike-outs and only one hit. Kayla Jernigan caught two fly-balls and had an out at second. Kendyll Kohlleppel had four outs at first. Kacie Cantwell also helped with the defense with a great catch of a foul ball. The offense was led by Lacy Butler who hit an in-the-park homerun. The offense continued with RBI’s from Elizabeth O’Day, Kendyll Kohlleppel, and Savanah Woodcock. Adrienne Pabon hit a triple while Tamara Nacel hits a single.

Congratulations to the Lady Eagle softball team for finishing the district season in second place with a district record of 6-2. The Lady Eagles will play their first playoff game against Karnes City at 7:00pm Friday, April 30th at Huber Ranch in Seguin.
