The LBJ Eagle varsity track teams qualified 6 members to compete at the Region IV-2A meet to be held May 3 & 4 at Converse Judson High School in San Antonio.
The Eagles won 4 district titles in the varsity division and 1 district title in the JV division.
Kris McDonald won the district championship in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Kelya Jureczki won district in the mile and placed 2nd in pole vault, Cody Atwood won district in the triple jump and placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash, Laramie Blackwell finished 3rd in the long jump and Lacey Delancey finished 3rd in the 400 meter run. The varsity boys 4x200 meter relay team also qualified for regionals with a 2nd place finish. The team consists of Trenton Rodriguez,Blackwell, McDonald and Atwood.
Other top finishers in the varsity division were Aaron Humphrey, 4th in the 400 meter run, Jordan Jones, 4th in the 800 meter run, Rodriguez, 4th in the 100 meter dash, the boys 4x100 meter relay team of DJ Robertson, Jason Guthrie, Van Johnson and Blackwell finished 5th and the girls 4x200 meter relay team of Delancey, Jureczki, Kourtney Smith and Amanda McDonald placed 5th.
In the JV division Shelby Conlon won the district title in discus. Other top finishers were Juan Alvarez, 2nd in the 800 meter run and 5th in the mile, Jade Cones 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles and 6th in the 110 meter hurdles and Jaxon Riebesehl 5th in the 2 mile run and 6th in the mile run.
