Nicholas Nolte, a 5th grader at LBJ Middle School, received Honorable Mention for his pinball machine in the 2nd Annual Rubber Band Contest for Young Inventors. This honor recognizes that he was a Top 50 Contestant out of 600 entries.

The Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS), The Akron Global Polymer Academy, and The University of Akron hosted the 2010 Rubber Band Contest for Young Inventors to encourage students in grades 5-8 to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity by creating an invention that incorporates the use of rubber bands.

Nicholas is the son of Justin and Julie Nolte of Johnson City.
