Eight LBJ High School Art students took 10 pieces of art work to compete at the State Visual Art Scholastic Event last Saturday the 10th of April. This event was held at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, Texas. Our Johnson City LBJ High School Art Students competed against 24,000 Texas art students at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event.
Olivia Anderson, Megan Marks, Kayla Meier with two artworks, Tiffany Moreland and Jorge Regino made top scores and medaled in their levels and categories at State. Logan Lombard, Bryant Mc Dowell and, Tiffany Cox with two artworks, scored in the second highest level in their areas.
LBJ Art Student medal winners were placed in a second competition for the Gold Seal Award. Megan Marks and Jorge Regino’s artwork was chosen by a team of judges against the top student art work in Texas. Megan and Jorge will have their art work on tour around the state of Texas for a year. LBJ High School is proud of all of Johnson City’s Regional and State High School Visual Art Scholastic Event winners.
